Next month, Hennessey will once again take part in a long-standing tradition of prayer and reflection. The 38th annual Life Chain will be held Sunday, October 5, beginning at 2 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 81 and Highway 51.
The gathering is one of many scheduled that afternoon in communities across the United States and Canada. Locally, the event is organized by the Pro-Life Committee of Hennessey and Dover and welcomes participants from throughout Kingfisher County.
Organizers describe Life Chain as a peaceful hour dedicated to honoring the value of human life. Signs will be available on-site, and anyone who may have difficulty standing the full time is encouraged to bring a chair.
“This is an opportunity to set aside distractions, come together as neighbors, and lift up prayers for a culture that chooses life,” said Valerie Wissman, who helps coordinate the event.
The public is invited to attend and take part in the one-hour observance. For details, contact Valerie Wissman at 405-853-6175.
