The Hennessey Junior High Lady Eagles won 5-2 against Blackwell Middle School on Monday.
Kinslee Copeland put Hennessey on the scoreboard with a single in the second inning. Blackwell tied the game at 1-1 in the third, thanks to a hit from Barriger. Hennessey took the lead again after an error made it 3-1.
Reese Meek pitched well for the Lady Eagles, allowing four hits and two runs (one earned) while striking out eight batters. Tickes took the loss for Blackwell, giving up three runs (one earned) over three innings.
Mak Copeland led the team with two runs batted in, while Meek and Kinslee each had two hits. Blackwell’s Barriger, Tisdale, Mardis, and Trevito each had one hit, with Barriger driving in a run.
