An esthetician is a licensed skin care specialist who provides treatments designed to improve the health and appearance of the skin, including facials, peels, and hair removal. I had to start this story with the definition of โestheticianโ because, truth be told, I still canโt pronounce the word correctly! And before you jump to conclusions when you see the pictures in this story, let me clarify: no, Iโm not turning into a mummy. I have far more exciting plans for my Halloween costume this year, so youโll have to stay tuned for that adventure.
Now, back to the woman of the hour: Savanah Holmes Johnston. Savanah grew up in a bustling household as one of four children, the daughter of Michelle Buck and Clay Holmes. After graduating from Kingfisher High School in 2008, she married Wesley Johnston, who works for the Kingfisher County Sheriffโs Department. Together, theyโre raising four wonderful children: Raegan (16), Mausen (15), Easton (11), and Aiden (9).
Savanahโs career path didnโt start in skincare. She first attended school to become a dental assistant and spent some time working in the dental field. In 2016, she decided to take a leap of faith and follow her true passion of owning her own boutique. While balancing work, family life, and the demands of school, she graduated in 2018 as a licensed esthetician.
During our conversation, Savanah shared that her own journey hasnโt always been easy since she has battled self-esteem issues herself. That experience fuels her passion for helping others feel good about themselves. Yes, youโll leave her boutique with soft, glowing skin, but her bigger mission is to help clients leave with a renewed sense of confidence and self-worth.
And let me tell you, as someone who loves to talk, itโs a rare thing for me to be speechless. But the moment I lie down on Savanahโs facial bed and she works her magic, I go completely quiet. So quiet, in fact, that she has to ask if Iโm okay!
Savanahโs services arenโt just for women either. Men can enjoy facials, body waxing, and high-quality skincare products as well. Her boutique, The Skin and Beauty Boutique at 124 North Main, has been a labor of love and a work in progress that keeps evolving as Savanah builds her vision of helping people feel beautiful inside and out
