Hennesseyโs 2025 Homecoming was one for the books, filled with tradition, pageantry, and a thrilling football showdown that ended in victory for the Eagles.
Parade & Bonfire Kick Off the Festivities
The celebration began on Thursday, September 11, with a community parade followed by the traditional bonfire. Students, alumni, and families lined the streets as the homecoming court and school groups rolled through town, fueling Eagle pride before gathering at the roaring flames to rally support for Fridayโs big game.
Friday Night Lights: Hennessey vs. Crescent
The excitement carried into Friday night as the Hennessey Eagles took the field against the Crescent Tigers. Fans packed the stands, cheering under clear skies and a golden sunset.
The action began when Mario Lopez electrified the crowd with a 44-yard kick return. Quarterback Levi Ferrell capped the opening drive with a 1-yard rushing touchdown, giving Hennessey early momentum. Crescent answered back in the second quarter with a 25-yard touchdown reception, but the Eagles responded with a 36-yard field goal from Luis Macias-Montoya, tying the school record for career field goals after a clutch 29-yard reception that set up the kick.
The third quarter brought fireworks when Ferrell broke free for a 60-yard rush, setting up another touchdown run from Lopez. In the fourth, Ferrell connected with Beau Vinson on a 40-yard touchdown strike. Crescent refused to back down, narrowing the score with a 53-yard touchdown pass to make it 24-20.
With less than two minutes to play, the Hennessey defense stepped up in dramatic fashion. Jameson Ladwig delivered a key sack, and Lopez sealed the deal with a crucial pass deflection. The Eagles held on for a thrilling 24-20 win, capping off a perfect homecoming night.
