At the heart of it all is owner Sandra Kloppel, a Kingfisher local whose friendly spirit makes you feel like part of the family. The name B&B is more than catchy branding; it’s a shout-out to family. It stands for Beau and Blair, Sandra’s children (and no, she’s not revealing whose “B” comes first).
Sandra never set out to be in the spotlight, but in the fall of 2015, a quiet idea kept nudging her. One day, she casually mentioned it to her husband, Tom, “What if we bought a liquor store?” That simple question sparked something big. By January 1, 2016, they had taken the leap and purchased JB Liquor. Since then, the business has grown and transformed, relocating, adapting to changing liquor laws, upgrading with a modern point-of-sale system, and navigating the challenges of COVID along the way.
Step inside and you’ll notice certain bottles fly off the shelves depending on the season, beer and spritzers for sunny summer days, whiskey and wine for cozy winter nights. And for beer lovers, the cold beer cave is stocked with all types of brew you could want, ready for whatever occasion you’re celebrating. Sandra’s personal favorite? Don Julio 70th Añejo Cristalino. The rest of her family might be more of a Miller Lite crowd, but at B&B, there’s something for every taste.
What really makes the store shine is the people. Every employee is a long-time local, ready with a smile, a recommendation, or a quick chat about the latest flavor release (rumor has it Chocolate Crown Royal could be coming, and yes, we’re already imagining the possibilities).
B&B Liquor is truly a family affair. Tom keeps everything running smoothly from repairs to quality control while their kids, in-laws, and even Sandra’s grandson pitch in when needed. “The grandson,” she says with a grin, “handles the entertainment on long days.”
And while Sandra’s home base is Kingfisher, she’s no stranger to Hennessey. Over the years, she and Tom have built relationships there, starting with loyal customers merging into lifelong friends, to enjoying an evening out for dinner, they love making the short trip across the river.
