Hennessey students will be seeing some new faces around the halls this year. Three new teachers are joining the elementary staff, and each one brings a solid background, a heart for kids, and a passion for education.
Second Grade – Becky Hood
Becky Hood is Hennessey’s new second-grade teacher. She holds certifications in elementary teaching and school administration, with a master’s in educational leadership from OU and a bachelor’s from Simpson University. Becky brings years of experience from Epic Charter Schools, where she served as a teacher, principal, and development specialist. She’s also taught at Deer Creek Public Schools and directed Steppingstone Mother’s Day Out in Edmond.
Elementary Special Education
Shawna Winstead
Shawna Winstead joins as the new elementary special education teacher. She holds a bachelor’s in special education from UCO and a master’s in school administration from Texas A&M. Shawna has served as a special education principal at Epic Charter Schools and has experience as dean of students in Newcastle and as a teacher at Mustang Valley Elementary.
Elementary Music – Olivia Fletcher
Olivia Fletcher is the new elementary music teacher. She holds a doctorate from Michigan State, a master’s from Arizona State, and a bachelor’s from Ithaca College, all in music. Olivia has taught bassoon at the college level and worked in K–12 music classrooms in New York, including general music, band, and music appreciation.
