Last Saturday night, June 28th, Hennessey turned up in a big way to see what all the buzz was about at the rodeo grounds! The grandstands were packed with hundreds of fans who came out to watch nearly 100 lightning-fast go-karts tear up the dirt.
Outlaw Motorsports, the event operator, arrived a few days earlier and quickly transformed the Hennessey Rodeo Arena into a high-banked dirt track. It looked like an army of ants at work as they installed safety barricades, a status light system, a flagman’s platform, computerized timing systems, and more.
The pit area resembled a mini-NASCAR event, with families from all over the region rolling in with full racecar transport rigs. The newly expanded parking area, built by Kingfisher County District 2, was packed and put to good use.
Drivers of all ages, boys, girls, men, and women hit the track, all racing for bragging rights and big prize money at Hennessey’s first-ever professional dirt track go-kart race.
