Tank Battery Fire Near Hennessey Sparks Early Morning Response
Hennessey Firefighters were dispatched around 7:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, June 15th, to battle a tank battery fire at an oil well site located near the intersection of N 2840 and E630 Roads, approximately 2.5 miles west of Hennessey along West 7th Street.
The blaze occurred just hours after a strong thunderstorm moved through the area. The National Weather Service had issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning at 3:24 a.m., with the system bringing heavy rain and intense lightning conditions that may have contributed to the fire.
A full crew of Hennessey firefighters responded to the call, including Dustin Munroe, Randy Gregory, Dustin Grellner, Jaylen Goff, Brandon Scott, Skylar McCall, Luis Lara, CW Daniel, Cris Pribyl, and Sergio Gomez. The fire was contained to two saltwater tanks, and the firefighters extinguished it using foam.
