The funeral for Edward โCottonโ Hill, 85 will be at 10:00 AM Saturday April 26, 2025 at First Christian Church, Hennessey officiated by Ellis Weber. Burial will follow at Hennessey Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
Cotton was born at Hennessey on October 19, 1939 to Wilbur Bill and Juanita Williams Hill and died Tuesday April 22, 2025 at his home.
Cotton married Beverly Crawford in Ames on February 5, 1961. The couple farmed in the Crescent area their entire lives.
He was a member of Union Chapel Church, Anchor Crescent Masonic Lodge #104, the Marshall Coop Board of Directors, Bank of Crescent Board of Directors, and Christian Union Board of Directors. Cotton earned the FFA Junior Master Farmer Degree in high school.
He is survived by one son Sam Hill and wife Tonya of Blue Eye, Missouri; two daughters Lisa Graff and husband Charles, Trisha Bernardy and husband Tom, all of Crescent; twelve grandchildren Keeton, Natalie, Jesi, Jonathon, Joshua, Drew, Nettie, Ryan, Chris, Daniel, Rachel, Emily; eight great-grandchildren Kaden, Esther, Jericho, Finnegan, Kit, Milo, and Jacob.
Cotton was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Beverly, one brother Lester, and one infant sister.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to Union Chapel Church or Crescent Anchor Masonic Lodge with the funeral home serving as custodian of the funds.
