Graveside services for Gene Leroy Houston, 80 will be at 2:00 PM Thursday April 3, 2025 at Lyon Valley Cemetery officiated by Jimmy Berkenbile. Guests may gather with the family at Union Chapel Church prior to the service. Arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home. The casket will remain closed.
Gene was born at Bison on April 23, 1944 to Edward and Mabel Townsend Houston. After graduating from high school he served in the U.S. Air Force.
He farmed east of Bison most of his life.
Gene is survived by one nephew Danny Houston and wife Tommie of Covington, two nieces Kandy Trojan and husband John of Bison and Shirley Southwick of Douglas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Daniel J. Houston and wife Yvonne.
