The Hennessey Softball Association hosted a Strike Out Cancer Softball tournament March 22-23 in honor of Margaret Unruh. The tournament benefited Margaretโs family. Margaret, the late wife of Jim Unruh, passed away last October after a battle with breast cancer. Jim is the umpire coordinator for Hennessey tournaments, schools, and surrounding towns. He threw out the first pitch to honor Margaretโs memory.
Hennessey teams that played in the tournament included the Hennessey Lady Twisters (12U), Hennessey Lady Rangers (8U), and Hennessey Lady Eagles (8U).
The 8U winners were the Enid Diamonds (1st place) and the Hennessey Lady Rangers (2nd place). The 12U winners were the Lady Bucs (1st place) and the Enid Diamonds (2nd place). Information and pictures were provided by Heather Davis.
