Several Kingfisher County roads have been closed for several days while Mustang Gas Plant runs tests on their gas lines. Kingfisher County District #2 was asked to close the roads on Monday, February 10th, but extended the closure through Tuesday night.
The roads closed included 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝟴𝟭 & 𝗖𝗥 𝟲𝟱𝟬 (𝗘𝘅𝘅𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘁𝗼𝗽) 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝟲𝟱𝟬 & 𝟮𝟴𝟲𝟬(𝗖𝗲𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱) 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝟮𝟴𝟲𝟬 𝘁𝗼 𝟲𝟲𝟬.
This gas processing facility is located 2 miles south of the Town of Hennessey on S Hwy 81, formally known as the Exxon Plant. It was purchased by Mustang Gas Products in 2002 and underwent a remodel several years ago. On Sunday morning, January 12, 2025, this Plant was evacuated because of a fire. When the firefighters arrived there were flames visible inside the gas processing plant near the south end of the facility.
