The Lady Eagles are riding a 6 game winning streak coming into another ranked matchup, this time against #19 in class B Balko-Forgan. The Eagles and the Bison were back and forth from the very start, with the lady eagles attacking down low and the lady bison shooting it from downtown. The high volume of 3 kept the game within striking distance all night for Balko. The eagles took a 21-16 lead into halftime. They would not relinquish too much of the lead, until late in the 4th, the game became a tug-of-war match once again, fortunately the Lady Eagles stayed out of any foul trouble and won their 7th consecutive game 36-33.
The boys also had a ranked matchup against Balko, as they’re ranked #14 in class B. Immediately both teams displayed that this would be an offensive nightmare, with tough defense being played by both sides. The first quarter closed with a score of just 7-5, Balko leading. They stayed one step ahead for a majority of the game, taking a multi-score lead into halftime as well. They never relinquished their lead, until late in the 4th quarter, when the Eagles were able to grab a share for the last few minutes, courtesy of Camdyn Richardson and Hagen Copeland. Balko was able to tie the game up in the final seconds however, and it was sent to overtime. Overtime was exciting, but Balko regained the lead and stayed on top for the whole period, and the boys would lose 51-48. photos by AAH Shelley Muzny
