Helen Marie (Hawk) Patocka passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on December 16, 2024, surrounded by her beloved children.
She was born in Kingfisher County on April 12, 1929, to the late Caril Otis and Mildred (Bellows) Hawk. Helen grew up near Hennessey, Oklahoma, and Dalhart, Texas, and was a proud graduate of Hennessey High School in 1947.
On July 24, 1956, she married Stanley Charles Patocka, the love of her life. They were blessed with two children, Charlene Mildred and David Lee, who brought immense joy to her life.
Helen will be remembered for her sharp wit and love of her family. She enjoyed tending her beautiful rose garden, cooking meals, and spending time outdoors. Ever feisty, Helen continued farming and caring for animals well into her 90s, a testament to her resilience.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, her parents, and her four siblings: Donovan Hawk, Dorothy (Hawk) Gorrell, Caroline Hawk, and Verva Louise Hawk.
She is survived by her children, Charlene Patocka of Hennessey and David Patocka of Broken Arrow; her two grandchildren, Annie (Cole) Crawford of Coweta and Joseph Carter of Broken Arrow; and her extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom carry her love and memory in their hearts.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, December 23, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hennessey, officiated by Rev Edward Menasco. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
