The funeral for Butch Overbay, 65 will be at 2:00 PM Monday December 2, 2024 at First Christian Church officiated by Rev. Ish Engle and Jimmy Berkenbile. Burial will follow at Hennessey Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
Butch was born in Amarillo, Texas on November 26, 1959 to Earl Ray and Gladys Katherine Collins Overbay and died Wednesday November 27, 2024 at his home in Yukon.
He married Claudia Parker in Hennessey on April 3, 1981. The couple made their home in Hennessey for several years prior to moving to Yukon. Butch was a member of First Christian Church of Hennessey. He raced stock cars at Enid over twenty years ago.
Butch is survived by his wife Claudia of the home; one daughter Amy Barnes and husband Paul, one son Danny Overbay and wife Scotlyn, all of Yukon; his mother Gladys Overbay of Hennessey; three brothers Bill Overbay and wife Mary, Chris Overbay, Gerry Overbay; one sister Scooter Thompson and husband Jay; six grandchildren Jack Barnes, Caiden Loeffelholz, Benjamin Barnes, Max Barnes, Rayden Overbay, Brock Overbay, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Earl Overbay, and one infant sister Annette Overbay.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home to help defray expenses.
