The (5-3) Hennessey Eagles took on the undefeated, #3 ranked Stroud Tigers for their last home game on the season last night. Unfortunately, there was a reason the Tigers are undefeated and highly ranked, as they immediately got on the board with 8, although it wasn’t an touchdown handed to them, so the Eagles did have a shot; they just needed to play perfect football from there to the end. The offense though, could never quite get going properly. It would be the recipe all night long, as the Tigers ground and pound offense wore down the Eagle front, and their first opportunity to get in the endzone, they weren’t able to punch it in from 3 yards out. What could’ve been a one score ball at the half, was evidently a 16-0 at the halfway point. The 2nd half was far worse, as stroud mixed their run heavy attack with a host of big plays for good field position. The Eagles fell to the Tigers 42-0 when all was said and done. The Eagles need a win next week vs Casady in order to clinch a playoff birth. It will be streamed on hennesseyeagles.tv.
