Internships play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Hennessey students. One such internship is that of Jaret Matthews, who is the son of Steven and Kimberly Matthews. is on a journey towards becoming a minister. Jaret’s internship is under the mentorship of Drew McElhaney at the First Baptist Church.
For Jaret, this internship marks the second year of invaluable learning and growth under the guidance of Drew. Through this hands-on experience, Jaret has been training in the multiple responsibilities of a minister, receiving mentorship in all aspects of the role, from preparing and delivering sermons to leading the congregation in singing and prayer.
Jaret has a natural talent for vocals, he actively participates in the school choir, participating in performances, vocal competitions, and even taking on roles in school productions such as the recent portrayal of “Lurch” in the school’s rendition of “The Addams Family.”
The school would like to extend its appreciation to Drew and First Baptist Church for this student training opportunity.
