EAGLES SMASHMOUTH FOOTBALL BITES THE BULLDOGS!

The Hennessey Eagles (2-3) had their 2nd to last home game against the Meeker Bulldogs. The Birds having come off a tough loss against the Goldbugs were looking for vengeance, and they complied. Both teams stalled on their inaugural drives, but that was one of the final times Meeker was able to say that. The Eagles ran the ball up and down the field, sprinkling in various big plays through the air. The first two touchdowns were courteous of Braedyn Richardson and Jessin Hardin, both punching it in from a yard out. The game winded down to the last minute of the 2nd quarter, where the Dogs struck quickly on numerous passes to send it to a one-score game. With 7 seconds to go, the Eagles had one play from the Meeker 47. Gunnar Holder took it all the way to the house, and the rest was history. Holder punched in 2 more from 12 out and 20 out, respectively, having 150 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries. He then tossed a 17-yard touchdown to Kevin Trillo, who moved into a tie for the 8th most receiving touchdowns as a Hennessey Eagle. Mario Lopez punched it in from 4 yards away to conclude the final score at 49-7, with Luis Montoya hitting all 7 extra points. They travel to Kellyville next week.
