This year’s annual Wine and Chocolate Festival in Hennessey’s Memorial Park saw about 400 wine enthusiasts and sweet-toothed individuals from all over Oklahoma gather on a beautiful breezy fall but slightly summer-like day.While the spotlight was on the delicious wines, this year’s festival added a new twist: a brewery and distillery were on hand to cater to those with a penchant for beer and white liquor. This year’s wine award winners were 1st Place Turn-eR Me On Winery, 2nd Place Backyard Winery, and 3rd Place Wild Horse Canyon Farms. The Hennessey Fire Department’s legendary ribeye sandwiches were a crowd favorite, and they did not disappoint. Several booths had sweet treats, pecans, and other chocolate confections with plenty of samples. Mark your calendars for next year’s event, which takes place every first Saturday in October.
