HENNESSEY
The funeral for Danny “Bohunk” Vaverka, 68 will be at 11:00 AM Saturday September 14, 2024 at First Christian Church officiated by Rev. Ish Engle. Visitation will be Friday September 13, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Danny was born in Enid on September 5, 1956 to Tom and Betty Morrow Vaverka and died Sunday September 8, 2024 in Wichita, Kansas.
Danny was a concrete contractor, having worked alongside his father Tom for the majority of his life. For the past 27 years he has been a chemical applicator, working his way up to owning Vaverka Spraying Service.
He is survived by one son Cody Vaverka of Tonkawa, ex-wife and best friend Karen Patton of Blackwell; one brother Gary Macy, one sister Jo Byrd, all of Hennessey; one niece Amy Smith, four nephews David Macy, Logan Macy, Brian Byrd, and Jason Byrd.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Betty Vaverka, one uncle Ray Layne, and his bonus daughter Sabra Patton.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to the NRA or ASPCA with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
