FIREFIGHTER TRAINING

Hennessey Firefighters spent Sunday afternoon, March 17th about a mile north of the Cemetery on N2860 burning a house for the LaPorte Family. The house needed to be taken down and the easiest way was to burn it. This created a wonderful training opportunity for the Hennessey and Marshall firefighters along with Kingfisher County Emergency Management to put classroom training into practice.  It is not too often they get the opportunity to live structure fire training like this. Hennessey Fire Chief said they practiced hose lay, forcible entry, pump operation, and donning and doffing PPE. They also worked on-scene command and documentation.  The fire department wanted to thank the LaPorte family for the opportunity to use this property and for the sizable donation to the department.  Photos by Libby Seiger
