The 4th ranked Eagles headed to Cleveland last, Friday, March 1st, to face off against the 5th ranked Preston Pirates in what was bound to be a good matchup. The offenses both struggled out the gates and would continue that trend. Each team had their various offense bursts, with the Eagles taking the early lead and started to build upon that. Preston though, courtesy of a good outside shooting performance, would slowly climb back and head into halftime with a 21-18 lead over the Eagles. In the 2nd half, the Pirates continued to stay just one step ahead of the Eagles, and when the game would get close, they’d pull away once again. Good free throw shooting from the Pirates allowed them to put the nail in the coffin, sending the Eagles home with a loss. They will play tonight at 7:30 versus the Riverside Braves at Cleveland. If you cannot attend it will be live-streamed at Final score – 44-36. Story by Taylor Ladwig, Photos by Jude Hestand
