Mardi Gras may be a bit different at the nursing home, but boy, do they know how to party!

They kicked off the morning with donuts in place of beignets because, hey, who doesn’t love a sweet start to the day? This was a whole day event for the residents.

After breakfast, they held a Scavenger Hunt!  Wheelchairs spinning, walkers racing, and canes tapping in excitement to find treasures.

For lunch, Munchies food truck was there. And what was on the menu? Jambalaya with shrimp, of course! The nursing and rehab center couldn’t let Mardi Gras pass without a little parade. So, they gathered in the hallway, showing off their best beads and costumes. The energy was contagious, and the smiles on everyone’s faces were priceless!

Finally, at 2pm, was the grand finale—They served King cake, hoping to score the honor of being crowned the King and Queen of the party. Can you guess who took the crown this year? None other than Jeffery Pitts and Janice Barnett!

Mardi Gras at the nursing home may not be as wild as the streets of New Orleans, but they sure know how to let loose, have fun, and create joyful memories together. Happy Mardi Gras, y’all! laissez les bon temps rouler! (Let the good times roll)
