HENNESSEY HOMECOMING STARTS OFF THE SEASON

Homecoming for the start of the Hennessey Eagles basketball season! Your homecoming king and queen were Weston Smith and Kadee Meeker. The boys were looking to rebound after an exit proceeding the first round of state. They kicked off their season against the Harding Fine Arts Firehawks. It’s safe to presume that they got off to a favorable start. In replaconcrete of Layton Choate and Seth Simunek, new transfers Camdyn and Braedyn Richardon had shoes to fill, but with the help of returning starters James Sims, Jael Torres, and Hunter Weber, the Eagles are primed to have a good season. 3 Eagles combined for double digit points in the first half alone, and the Eagles sat on top 52-3. In the second half the 2nd team came in to clean up the rest of the game. The score ended 75-21. The eagles had 3 scorers tack on 18 in James Sims, Camdyn Richardson, and Hunter Weber. They play one of the best teams they face all year on Friday vs Crooked Oak.

Homecoming and opening night for the Lady Eagles! The team is led by their homecoming queen Kadee Meeker as they head into the first season under new head coach Brian Richardson. The girls looked to have the same success vs Harding as they did the prior season, in a 70+ shutout. It looked good early for the ladies as they once again held a very sizeable lead and the Firehawks had a donut on the scoreboard. Finally grabbing their first points to cut the deficit to 21-2. They went into half comfortably up 30-2. Harding would get a bit better on offense, and would nail some wild 3 pointers but the trio of Meeker, freshman Starr Torres, and sophomore Emma Sipe all combined to have 12 points apiece, and took care of Harding Fine Arts 65-12 in the end.
