The John Deutschendorf Memorial Pavilion, a significant project in the “Discover Hennessey” program, has made significant progress towards its completion. Buddy Daniels and his team have successfully established the foundation of the building by constructing the necessary piers. Beginning their work last Monday, the Daniels construction crew drilled 8-foot deep holes to support the structure. The actual building is anticipated to arrive next week and will be painted at Thurmond manufacturing shop. The completion of phase one is expected to be achieved before Thanksgiving, with over 80% of the construction funded by private donations from local businesses. Situated conveniently on West 1st Street, just off Main St., this memorial pavilion is located on the former Lee Lumber site.
