The home of the world’s largest cowboy hat has been sold to Casey’s convenience store chain. Jay Riaz, owner of Howdy’s confirmed with All About Hennessey on Tuesday, October 3rd that he has entered into a contract to sell the store located on the north end of Hennessey. Riaz said, “We have a lot of work to do but we should done by the end of the year.”
Casey’s operates 2,500 stores in Midwestern and Southern areas of the United States and is the 3rd largest convenience store chain. The closest Casey’s store to us is the one built about 2 years ago at the corner of Hwy 33 and 81 in Kingfisher.
Riaz said, “Part of our contract included transitioning all of our employees to Casey’s giving them job security.” Howdy’s held its initial grand opening in Hennessey on February 25th of this year. Riaz said they just opened the new Duncan store and have started construction on a store in New Castle, Oklahoma.
