Last Friday’s 35 mph plus wind storm snapped a power pole at the intersection of N. Mitchell and Iowa St. in front of the school campus. Hennessey Police officer Bryan Birch was in the area and witnessed the pole break at about 12:30 pm. The police blocked off the area for about 3 hours while OG&E replaced the pole. The school had to get creative and redirect parents to pick up their children behind the auditorium to avoid the area while repairs were being made. The repairs were complete and the road reopened at about 4 pm.
