Wednesday, March 22nd, school choirs from around the county met at Dover Elementary to conclude the 2023 Kingfisher County Fine Arts Festival. This was the 74th year of the festival. The festival began with a performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” by all of the choirs combined. After their performance, the other choirs from around the county took turns singing. The children sang a variety of songs, from classic hymns to popular show tunes. Each group sang two songs. The first to be judged, and the second for fun.
At 9 AM, Hennessey’s 1st and 2nd grades performed (not photographed), and at 1 PM, the 3rd-8th grade performed.
The finale of the festival was a combined singing of “America the Beautiful.” The audience erupted with cheers and applause as the children sang their hearts out, creating a powerful and uplifting atmosphere. The voices of the children soared through the air, and their enthusiasm was contagious. Everyone in the audience was filled with pride and joy, and it was a truly magical moment that will be remembered for years to come.
