Mini Cheer Entertained During Playoffs

About 45 pre-K through 4th-grade girls entertained the home team crowd at Saturday night’s first round of playoffs at the Eagle Event Center.

Cheer coach Beth Curran said, “This is the first time we have been able to do a basketball one in quite a few years. The bigger facilities of the Eagle Event Center help a lot.”  The girls spend 2 days at camp working on their routines led by the cheerleaders. They choose the cheers and choreograph the dance and work with the girls each day.  Dance instructor Sadie Cabral helped some, but most of it is run by the high school cheerleaders.

Curran said, “We have done football mini-cheer since I started and this is my 4th year as cheer coach.” The event is the biggest fundraiser for the high school Hennessey Cheerleaders.
