HENNESSEY Recitation of the Rosary for Virgil E. Schovanec, 86 will be at 6:00 PM Friday February 3, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Saturday February 4, 2023 at St. Joseph’s officiated by Rev. Edward Menasco. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
Virgil was born at Bison on January 31, 1937 to Charles and Mary Bartunek Schovanec and died Tuesday January 31, 2023 at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid.
He married Rose Anne Shimanek in Bison on September 3, 1960. Virgil was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife Rose Ann of the home; three sons Kenneth Schovanec, Douglas Schovanec, Virgil Schovanec; seven grandchildren Noelle Barker, Kaity Lunbgren, Nicholas Schovanec, Chelsea Schovanec, Trenton Schovanec, Jacob Schovanec, Jessie Schovanec; one sister Sister.Deborah Schovanec; and four great-grandchildren.
Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and two brothers.
