Downtown was hopping last Saturday afternoon and into the evening with holiday events of all kinds. Businesses up and down Main St were open for Christmas shopping along with all kinds of things for children to enjoy. Many of the businesses offered things to do like making ornaments, coloring pages, cookies, stories, scavenger hunts, food, and drinks.
The evening events kicked off with the Main St Christmas parade that included 32 entrants ranging from giant trucks to a single, giant gingerbread cookie. There were hay rides, the children visited with Santa and the adults partook in the outdoor shops. There was even a giant outdoor movie screen showing the Elf movie. The night wrapped up with the Hennessey Lions Club’s Mistletoe Magic where they gave away $5,000.
