At last month Hennessey Board of Trustees meeting the board approved spending $500 per year for a Medical Director for the Fire Departments 2 new EMT’s. Jay Riaz, owner of the new Howdy’s Travel Center was at the meeting, stood up and said, “I will pay for that.” On Friday, after the towns special meeting Jay made good with his pledge and handed over $500 in cash to Mayor and Fire Chief, Bert Gritz to pay for the medical director’s fee. Riaz said that he would also pay this each year when it renews. The New Howdy’s Travel Center located on the north side of Hennessey is scheduled to open the first of the year.
