The weather Saturday was perfect for the 11th Annual Hennessey Wine & Chocolate Festival presented by Hennessey United. There were some new wineries this year along with several non-wine-related booths serving chocolate. The Hennessey Police assisted with checking IDs at the gate and the Firefighters offered their almost famous ribeye sandwiches.
Businesses in town also saw an uptick in traffic from the festival attendees. Main Street’s Vernost Winery carried the event into the evening with a live band on their outdoor patio.
Crowds at the event appeared to be a little smaller this year than past. There were many competing events in the area including both OU and OSU playing during the event. Hennessey United uses the proceeds from the Wine Festival for scholarships and various projects that improve our community.
