SLOW GOING EAST
Construction on Hwy 51, East of Hennessey, will cost you extra time this week while Cummings Construction paves a 2-mile section between CR2910 and CR2930 (Apx 3 east to 5 east of Hennessey). While paving, all traffic must take turns following a pilot car in both directions, using only one lane. When this 2-mile stretch is complete, they will begin on the next 2 miles closer to Hennessey, completing the drainage, paving the shoulders, and then the final layer of asphalt. So, if you are heading east, plan extra time for the reduced speed limit of 45 and the single-lane travel.
