School certified and support staff received raises at last Monday night’s school board meeting. All raises will take effect July 1 and include:
Support salaries, Substitute teachers get a $10 a day increase, $70 a day for non-certified and $80 for certified teachers.
Route bus drivers increase from $22.50 to $25.00 per hour.
Support staff, including custodians, paraprofessionals, and teacher assistants, go from $10.60 to $11.75 an hour for the 1st year, then $12.00 for 2-3 years and up. After that, a new or current support employee may start paying into the State Teachers’ Retirement System, and after one year, the school will begin paying 7%.
All certified employees will get their 7% Teachers’ Retirement System portion paid.
Extra duty assignments All student-based extracurricular, athletic, or non-athletic staff will get longevity stipends at 5-9 years, $1,250 per year, and 10-14 years, $2,500 per year. Extra duty salaries will also get a boost.
