Hennessey Firefighters arrived at 406 N Cheyenne St this afternoon to a fully engulfed house fire. Twelve-year-old Alicia, daughter of Laura and Brice Moulton, was home sick when the fire broke out. Brice said, “Alicia heard the three dogs in the backyard banging on the door. She saw the fire and fled the house.” A neighbor saw the smoke, called 911, and met Alicia on the front porch exiting without injury. Unfortunately, the family’s small dog, a Chihuahua, was lost in the fire.
Brice said, “We are insured. We only lost stuff. We are all OK and will be fine.” The fire appears to have started at the rear of the home and quickly spread through the structure. The wind was out of the north, driving thick black smoke over Main St. for a while. Hennessey Town employees assisted the Firefighters in getting the hydrants connected, and Hennessey police helped with crowd control.
