Town Administrator Report – September 2021

OML Conference – Six employees and three trustees attended the OML Conference. At the conference, they received informational sessions ranging from budget to annexing and code enforcement to “staying out of jail.” They also met and talked with vendors currently used and found some that they may use in the future. “It was very informational, and it was nice to be able to mingle with other city and town administrators.” said town administrator Tiffany Tillman.

New Employees –  The Water Department position was filled with Jamie Keel, who started on August 31, 2021.

Tony Hickey, Head Police Dispatcher, turned in his resignation and his last day was September 3.

Kelly Miller, a part-time Dispatcher, turned in her resignation on, Sunday so her last day will be September 25. 

Purchases

Purchases for September included Water Plant Generator – Breaker went bad – Estimate around $5,000 from Farmer’s Electric and a new drive-thru Window. It was estimated to cost $8,030 from Black Mesa Security, LLC. It was approved last year, but the town had to have a local contractor estimate and submit a new price quote.

REAP Waterline Project – Replaces approx. 1400 LF of water line between NW 7th and NW 4th on either side of Main Street. Contracts are signed, and work should be starting within a month.

Halloween – Hennessey will celebrate Halloween on Saturday, October 30. This way, it will not interfere with the churches that have night service. Town Hall is coordinating “A Business Trick Treat” for the afternoon of Friday, October 29.
