SCHOOL BUYS CORNER PROPERTY

At this month’s Hennessey School Board meeting, the board authorized Superintendent Jason Sternberger to bid on a property at a public auction held in OKC. The 2.75-acre tract has 2 buildings and is located at the SE corner of Hwy 51 and N. Mitchell Rd. The two businesses currently located on the property include Mary’s Tire and an oil field company. Sternberger said on the All About Hennessey Show, “There are 2 businesses operating on the property and it is not our intent to shut them down. After the closing, I will reach out to the tenants and see what we can do for them. We want to clean up the corner and make it presentable.” With this purchase, the school now owns the entire half-mile of land along the east side of Mitchell road. The property was purchased for $81,400 plus closing cost. Steinberger said, “The closing date hasn’t been set yet, but it is supposed to be before Sept 20th.”Watch this week’s All About Hennessey Show for all the details.
