The funeral for Shannon Kelley, 49 will be at 2:30 PM Sunday, August 1, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Hennessey officiated by Jimmy Berkenbile. Arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
Shannon was born in Clinton on June 28, 1972, to Ellis Dewayne Kelley and Peggy Lee Carrier and died Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Shannon loved his family dearly and they were the most important thing in his life, He was devoted to his church. He ran marathons, CrossFit Refuel, and loved golfing and boating. Shannon was very generous and helped others in need many times. He volunteered for many worthy causes. He was very active in Hennessey Reserve Angels, made numerous contributions to multiple non-profit organizations, bought Christmas presents for over seventy-five children this past Christmas, and supplied beds for foster children.
He is survived by his former wife of twenty-four years, Jennifer Kelley, one daughter Kayla Kelley, both of Enid; one sister Shelley Burch and husband Bryan of Hennessey; two nieces Bree Guffey and husband Tyler, Sierra Burch; one nephew Ryan Burch and wife Mikaela; three great-nieces and two great-nephews many cousins and many friends.
Shannon was preceded in death by his parents Peggy and Dale Carrier, and his father Ellis Dewayne Kelley.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to Hennessey Reserve Angels with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
