Ali Seng, Hennessey High School girls coach resigned Wednesday (June 30th) after coaching for one year at Hennessey.
Seng said, “I have verbally accepted the assistant position at NOC-Enid. It was a difficult decision because I knew what these girls wanted and needed at Hennessey. I felt in my first year we laid the foundation of the culture I was striving for.”
Hennessey Athletic Director Paul Hix said, “She is a tough one to lose. We’ll try and get someone quick, hopefully we get some good applicants.”
Seng said, “I was not looking for other opportunities. This came about by running into Coach Kelli Jennings in a parking lot. I do believe God opens doors and His timing is everything. Ultimately, I felt I couldn’t let the opportunity to move to the college level and be under Coach Jennings pass me by.”
Seng said she wanted to thank the school board, administration, hiring committee, parents and especially the girls for the opportunity to be their coach. “I made life-long relationships and I’m excited for the future at Hennessey. I know I’m leaving a good thing.”
Hennessey Superintendent, Jason Sternburger said, “We are not just waiting on applicants to show up. We are actively recruiting to get the best we can for our girls.”
The Little Lady Eagles camp that was to be led by Seng, planned for July 12 – 14th has been canceled.
Seng was the first Lady Eagles coach to play in the new Eagle Event Center.
