Brent Hajek has been preserving race car history for a very long time and displaying them in his Ames, Oklahoma Museum. Over the years, he has loaned these cars to events and museums all over the country. Probably one of the most prestigious museums in the country, is the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. If you are a Ford car guy, this is the top of the pile. Hennessey grad Brent Hajek was recently invited to display one of his many historic classic race cars at the Henry Ford Museum. The car is a red 1966 Ford Galaxie that was owned by stock car driver Wendell Scott. August 29th marks what would have been Scott’s 99th birthday. Although Scott passed away in late 1990 at the age of 69, his legacy continues to be felt in NASCAR today. He was the first African American driver to race full time in the NASCAR premier series and the first to win a race. Scott’s 1966 Ford Galaxie is on loan to The Henry Ford Museum courtesy of Hajek Motorsports, of Ames, Oklahoma. Hajek previously loaned the car to the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, North Carolina.
