ONE BIG HUNK OF ICE!

Most of us in Hennessey know him as a plumber, but Boyd Poteet is also an artist, dabbling in many forms of art. He has a labyrinth in his front yard and likes to make ice sculptures when the weather cooperates. Boyd said, “I have been doing ice sculptures for about 40 years or so. I started doing them in my front yard, but not many people got to see them since I live in the country. When Tim Taggart (my cousin) built Taggart’s Garden Center, I started doing them there where more people could enjoy them.” The past few weeks has been perfect for making ice and this year’s sculpture is about 25 feet tall. You can see the sculpture south of Hennessey on Highway 81, but you better hurry, it’s warming up and it won’t last long!
