Major drainage changes are underway on the southeast side of Hennessey to stop flooding. The Town of Hennessey was recently awarded a CDBG grant that is making it possible to fix the flooding around the area of the Senior Citizens Center and Cristo Rey Church. This includes areas around South Walnut, 1st and 2nd streets. Grade Works Construction of Hennessey was awarded the contract, and work began about a week ago. This is one of several infrastructure grants the town has been awarded recently.
