The Hennessey Horseman’s Club, started by Darla O’Brien, in efforts to provide a place for kids like her daughter to have a place to learn how to better ride and train their horses. The members get together two times a month, March through November, and run barrels and poles on their play days. The events are held in at the Hennessey rodeo grounds or in Geary. Recently, the club held their annual banquet where they announced their annual awards. Awards are based on run times and attendance. Everyone is welcome to join by simply joining the Hennessey Horseman Club Facebook page to know when the play days are happening. The club is supported by Darla O’Brien and James and Milea Nelson and by the many sponsors that have helped it from the start.
