This is another one of those storms we will remember for a long time. The one we will always compare it to is the BIG one of 2002 when there were people without power for over a month. This one is similar when it comes to tree damage and powerlines down. All over town you can here that loud eerie pop and crack, as large limbs break and crash to the ground. Hennessey Police and Town crews were busy all day dragging trees off the roadways. The Fire department responded to several powerlines being ripped off homes by falling trees. Ice up to a half inch accumulated on anything stationary. The roads in the area improved about noon and other than low hanging trees or powerlines down, travel was not hindered. There most likely will be additional power outages tonight as the temperatures fall and we get additional freezing rain. If you are without power please call your electric provider.
