Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:00 PM Thursday August 13, 2020 for Alvin Leo Stribel, Jr. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Friday August 14, 2020 at St. Joseph’s officiated by Rev. Ed Menasco and Rev. Carl Jenocha. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
Alvin was born on September 9, 1938 to Alvin and Golda Stribel. He was raised on the family farm in Hennessey, OK where he attended school and would live throughout his life. He attended college in Weatherford and Stillwater and then answered the call of “Uncle Sam” and joined the Navy. He was stationed in Hawaii where he met and married the love of his life, Jean Irene Ray. They returned to the family farm where they raised their four children.
He went to be with his Heavenly Father on August 11, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild Mary Grace Stribel.
He is survived by his wife Jean; one sister Glenda Mitchell; four children Ray Stribel and wife Teresa, Paula Copas, Joe Stribel, Leah Kostiuk and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
