THIS WEEK ALL ABOUT HENNESSEY RECOGNIZES RANDA PARRISH PRAIRIE QUILT

Born and raised in Fort Scott, Kansas, Randa Parrish
has been anything from a waitress to owning and operating Exhibit
Systems, National Radio Rental and Convention and Party Decorators in OKC, but surprisingly, Prairie Quilt was not intentional. Randa says, “I was really looking more for storage space for my quilt show items when Lois’s fabric store became available, that was 18 years ago. I was not going to have regular hours or even be open five days a week.” It all changed when customers started to express what they wanted and Randa made sure to deliver. Now, Prairie Quilt is the largest quilt shop in Oklahoma with a total of two buildings and another on its way that will be a showroom for sewing, embroidery and long arm machines making it a more enjoyable experience for customers. With 28 trained employees, it is clear that Randa not only has a wide range of products, but also prioritizes her customers and is always adapting to their needs. Prairie Quilt is not only a place to shop, but to learn. Randa states, “Education in our main thrust, if we can educate,
inspire and entertain folks we have achieved our goal.” Her store also
offers a retreat center that serves as a place for not only for quilting retreatsbut also sewing events. And even though Prairie Quilt brings people from all over the world, you will feel welcomed every time you walk in. Prairie
Quilt, 101 S. Main St., Hennessey. Each week we recognize a woman in
business that is a sponsor of All About Hennessey.
