Garrison Lumber is owned by Joe and Diane Garrison. Diane has lived in Hennessey the majority of her life and graduated from Hennessey High School in 1982. This lumber family started back in 1887 when Joe’s great-grandfather started his own lumber/hardware business. The lumber tradition carried on with his dad who managed lumber yards and began taking Joe to work with him when he was 3. The Garrisons had the opportunity to manage Hennessey Lumber in 1990 with the option to purchase and became the official owners, changing the name to Garrison Lumber, in June of 1991. Diane joined Joe in running the yard full time in August of 1993. The Garrison’s goal through the years has been to provide their customers with the products they need along with friendly customer service. They have recently introduced a new line of Traeger grills, pellets & accessories. While serving as President of the Oklahoma Lumberman’s Association in 2016, Diane researched and found that from 1950-2015 there was a 65% decrease in independently owned lumber yards. Diane states that “Small businesses on main streets in America are the very backbone of our country and are vital to the continued growth of small communities.” Joe and Diane have been honored to serve the Hennessey community for the past 28 years and look forward to providing their customers with a wide selection of home improvement and building products in the years to come.
