Congratulations to Hennesseyโs five state qualifiers: ๐๐๐น๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป๐ป๐ฒ ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐๐๐ฒ๐ธ, ๐ ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ ๐ข๐ฟ๐๐ฒ๐ด๐ฎ, ๐๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ช๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ, ๐๐ต๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐๐ผ๐ฝ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ and ๐ฅ๐ผ๐ด๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ต๐ผ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ!
The runners will compete at the state meet Saturday, October 24, at Carl Albert. The girls will race at 12:30 p.m., followed by the boys at 1 p.m.
Community members are invited to help send the Eagles off at 9:50 a.m. Saturday by lining Mitchell Road in front of the elementary/middle school.
At the qualifying meet, ๐๐๐น๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป๐ป๐ฒ ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐๐๐ฒ๐ธ led Hennessey in the varsity girlsโ 3,200-meter race, earning third place with a time of 12:26.8. ๐ ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ ๐ข๐ฟ๐๐ฒ๐ด๐ฎ finished 24th in a personal-best 14:18.9. Both runners qualified for state.
Also competing for the girls, ๐๐ผ๐ต๐ฎ๐ป๐ป๐ฎ ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐๐๐ฒ๐ธ placed 39th with a season-best time of 15:07.9. ๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐๐ต ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐ finished 57th in 16:53.2, followed closely by ๐๐๐ป๐ป๐ฎ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป in 58th at 16:55.3. ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐น๐ฒ๐ถ ๐ฅ๐ผ๐ผ๐ rounded out the girlsโ results, placing 60th in 17:25.6.
๐๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ช๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ paced Hennessey in the varsity boysโ 5,000-meter race, finishing 26th with a time of 19:58.0. ๐๐ต๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐๐ผ๐ฝ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ placed 37th in 21:09.0, and ๐ฅ๐ผ๐ด๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ต๐ผ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ finished 43rd in 22:22.8. All three earned spots at state. ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ผ ๐๐ผ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐น๐ฒ๐ also competed, taking 45th in 23:00.6.
