Barbara Faye Lamb

Barbara Faye Lamb, age 85, passed away on October 30, 2021, after suffering a stroke a few days before. She was born in Douglas County, Missouri on April 19, 1936, to Joseph Louis French and Vada May (Phillips) French. Also known as “Bobbie”, she spent much of her life living in various parts of Oklahoma and Texas but lived for a while in New Mexico after retirement. She was a woman of great talent and held many jobs during and after raising her three boys: Tom, Robert and Tony. It was while helping to run Oil Tool Rental in Enid, Oklahoma forty years ago that she met and married her husband who is lovingly referred to as “Papa Dean”. When not at work she was an artisan, and her talents included many hand-stitched and machine-stitched creations as well as beautiful pieces of stained glass and exquisite beaded jewelry.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Joan Miller, her sons Tony Patrick McCormick and Tom Edward McCormick, and her stepdaughter Tresha Madden.She is survived by husband Gabriel Dean Lamb, her son Robert Gerald McCormick (Clair), her stepchildren Bret Lamb, Dina Patee, and their families; her grandchildren: Candace McCormick, Heather (McCormick) Irish, Kristen McCormick, Mike McCormick, Joey McCormick (Fon) and Katlin McCormick Evans (Tom) as well as five great grandchildren.

Barbara is also survived by beloved nieces and great nieces and nephews. A Mass of the Resurrection to celebrate Barbara’s life will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 N. Cherokee St., Hennessey, Oklahoma, on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM with internment following.

Remembrance and a rosary prayer service will be held before the Mass. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to St Peter-St. Joseph Children’s Home at http://www.stpjhome.org/.
